Getting Started with AEX

• To participate in AEX discussions and obtain released versions of schemas, examples, and tools:
  • Download the latest file releases.
  • Subscribe to the aexdev-implement mailing list and, if you are interested in discussions about the schemas, the aexdev-discuss mailing list.
• To obtain the latest not-yet-released schemas, examples, and tools:
  • Obtain and install a CVS client. Windows users may wish to install the free WinCvs client.
  • Browse the aexdev CVS repository to learn the directory structure.
  • Follow the anonymous CVS access instructions.
• To contribute to schema development and/or develop open source tools for AEX:
  • Register for a SourceForge user account.
  • Read the SourceForge Introduction to SSH, and install an SSH client if your computer does not already have one installed. Windows users may wish to install the free PuTTY client.
  • Generate a key pair, and and post your public key to SourceForge.
  • Contact an aexdev project administrator (listed on the Summary Page) to request developer access to the project CVS repository.
  • Configure your CVS client to use your SSH client to access the project CVS repository. SourceForge-specific instructions are available for configuring WinCvs with PuTTY.
  • Refer to the Developer Access via SSH instructions on the CVS access instructions page.
  • Subscribe to the aexdev-notice mailing list if you wish to be notified whenever a developer makes a change to the files in the CVS repository.
